This foldable activity suitcase opens into a bright world of everyday pretend play. One side gathers a telephone with number buttons, steering wheel, traffic lights, sliding picture windows, turning plugs, a microwave and a two-door refrigerator. Small hands can lift the receiver, press the keypad, open the appliance doors and move from one satisfying detail to the next. Across the opposite side, a removable character waits beside glasses, a toothbrush, comb, mirror, sink and tap, with laces and buckles to explore slowly. Illuminated details and musical elements add another layer of interest, while the vehicle-shaped exterior offers more buttons, picture sliders, turning wheels and a spinning propeller. When play is finished, both sides close together into a portable case with a sturdy curved handle.

Smooth white plastic forms the activity suitcase, framed by lively pink, purple, green and turquoise pieces in one pictured variation and red, teal, orange and purple in another. Open on the floor, its broad panels keep every miniature scene visible and within reach. Closed, the case becomes a colourful vehicle that stands neatly beside a toy shelf, keeping its many attached activities gathered into one compact shape.

How we choose

If the toy does the work, the child doesn't

We look for toys with one clear thing to work out and no shortcuts. A puzzle a child solves teaches them something. A puzzle that plays a tune when they get it right teaches them to wait for the tune.

So we skip anything with a single right answer or a battery compartment, and keep what a child returns to for months — using it a different way each time as they get better at it.

What parents ask us first

Grows with them

Grows with them

The same toy gets used a different way at eighteen months than it does at three. We look for things a child comes back to over months, finding a new way to use them as they get better at it.

Right for the stage

Right for the stage

We list the age range a toy actually suits, based on the skill it asks for, not the widest range we can get away with. Between stages? Message us and we will help you pick.

Made to keep up

Built to survive daily play, being dropped, and a second child after that. Nothing here is designed to break so that you buy another one.

Toys that teach something real.
✦ About us

Toys that teach something real.

Swibbie began with a handful of parents comparing notes. We were tired of toys that lit up, sang, and did all the thinking while our children sat and watched — and we noticed the ones they kept coming back to were the plain ones that handed the work back to them. So we started sourcing those properly: checking what each toy actually teaches, grouping them by the stage a child is genuinely at, and trying every one in our own homes before it goes on the site.
