This baby activity set gathers five inviting play pieces in one calm palette. Little hands can post textured cubes, cylinders, triangles and stars through the matching openings in the lidded storage tub, then lift the friendly koala figure from its circular slot. A wooden peg puzzle offers layered circles, crescents, stars and rounded shapes in softly muted colours, each with smooth wooden knobs for lifting and returning. Seven numbered cups stack into a tall tower or nest closely together, while embossed letters, animals and patterns give every surface something new to notice. The wooden xylophone brings eight coloured metal bars into the mix, ready for gentle taps and bright notes. Designed for children from six months, the set keeps its many pieces gathered inside the handled tub when the room grows quiet.

Natural wood softens the xylophone and puzzle board, while navy, sage, cream, blush and clay tones give the baby activity set an understated presence among nursery furnishings. The woodland illustration across the speckled storage tub adds deer, rabbits and forest flowers without feeling busy, making the complete collection pleasing to leave on a low shelf between playtimes.

How we choose

If the toy does the work, the child doesn't

We look for toys with one clear thing to work out and no shortcuts. A puzzle a child solves teaches them something. A puzzle that plays a tune when they get it right teaches them to wait for the tune.

So we skip anything with a single right answer or a battery compartment, and keep what a child returns to for months — using it a different way each time as they get better at it.

What parents ask us first

Grows with them

Grows with them

The same toy gets used a different way at eighteen months than it does at three. We look for things a child comes back to over months, finding a new way to use them as they get better at it.

Right for the stage

Right for the stage

We list the age range a toy actually suits, based on the skill it asks for, not the widest range we can get away with. Between stages? Message us and we will help you pick.

Built to survive daily play, being dropped, and a second child after that. Nothing here is designed to break so that you buy another one.

✦ About us

Toys that teach something real.

Swibbie began with a handful of parents comparing notes. We were tired of toys that lit up, sang, and did all the thinking while our children sat and watched — and we noticed the ones they kept coming back to were the plain ones that handed the work back to them. So we started sourcing those properly: checking what each toy actually teaches, grouping them by the stage a child is genuinely at, and trying every one in our own homes before it goes on the site.
